Citrini Research projects ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) will reach approximately 350,000 wafer starts per month (WSPM) of DRAM capacity by the end of 2026, just 25,000 WSPM less than Micron's projected capacity. China's total DRAM capacity, including other domestic players like JHICC, Swaysure, and YMTC's XMC, is expected to reach 600,000 WSPM in the coming years, with a further increase to 1.41 million WSPM by 2030. This expansion aims to address a projected global DRAM deficit of 28.7 exabytes (25%) by 2030, driven by 75 EB of demand for agentic AI CPUs and 37.5 EB for HBM4E/HBM5.
