Samsung Electronics is finalizing equipment supplier selection for Pyeongtaek Plant 5's first production line and simultaneously procuring equipment for the second line, with orders expected to exceed KRW 10 trillion. The massive three-story fab, larger than existing Pyeongtaek facilities, aims to increase production capacity by over 50% for cutting-edge DRAM, including HBM, and may add a semiconductor foundry line.
