Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the availability of Amazon EC2 I8ge instances in AWS GovCloud (US-East, US-West) regions, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors, delivering up to 60% better compute performance than previous Graviton2-based instances. These instances utilize third-generation AWS Nitro SSDs, offering up to 55% better real-time storage performance per TB and up to 60% lower storage I/O latency compared to Im4gn instances.
AWS continues to push custom silicon for cloud compute, offering improved performance and efficiency for storage-optimized workloads.
