The new R8g and M8g instances, powered by AWS Graviton4 processors and DDR5 memory, are now generally available across multiple AWS regions for Amazon Aurora and Amazon RDS databases. These instances offer up to 40% performance improvement and up to 29% better price/performance compared to Graviton3-based instances. They also feature up to 192 vCPUs, an 8:1 memory-to-vCPU ratio, and up to 50Gbps enhanced networking bandwidth.
