Meta Platforms has established long-term supply agreements with Sandisk for NAND, Samsung for DRAM, and Sumitomo Electric for fiber-optic components to support its expanding AI computing infrastructure. These LTAs are tied to Meta's strategy to deploy its Iris AI chip (MTIA 400) starting in September, alongside other MTIA generations (450, 500) in 2026 and 2027. Meta aims to deploy 7GW of compute infrastructure this year, targeting 14GW by 2027, with potential spending up to $145 billion on AI infrastructure this year.
Hyperscalers are locking in multi-year supply for critical AI infrastructure components, shifting risk to suppliers and ensuring budget predictability for massive compute buildouts.
