Micron Technology announced an increased commitment of more than $250 billion for U.S. manufacturing and R&D, aiming to produce 40% of its DRAM in America and create over 90,000 jobs. The company also poured the first concrete at its New York DRAM megafab ahead of schedule and committed up to $3 billion to strengthen the U.S. semiconductor supply chain.
Micron's accelerated US DRAM fab construction and massive investment will significantly shift global memory supply chains towards domestic production, reducing reliance on overseas capacity.
