Applied Optoelectronics has commenced construction on a 400,000 sq ft expansion in Pearland, Texas, dedicated to 800G/1.6T optical transceiver output, part of its 900,000 sq ft Houston footprint. The company targets increasing combined 800G/1.6T unit output from 148,000 units/month in Q2 to over 650,000 by year-end 2026, and more than 930,000 by end of 2027. Its China subsidiary also doubled its credit line to $74 million to fund working capital and expansion.
