AMD officially launched its first rack-scale AI computing system, Helios, on July 20, integrating Instinct GPUs, EPYC CPUs, high-speed networking, and the ROCm software platform. This new system is designed to directly compete with NVIDIA's Grace Blackwell and next-generation Vera Rubin systems, with shipments anticipated to begin later this year.
AMD's Helios system provides a full-stack alternative to NVIDIA's AI infrastructure, offering hyperscalers like Microsoft a new option for large-scale AI deployments.
