Taiwan Power Company announced a power procurement case on July 15, seeking coal-fired unit power for a 13-year period starting in June and September of next year. The procurement targets at least three companies for two sets of 61.5567 billion kilowatt-hours or more, specifically aimed at renewing contracts for Hualien's Hoping Power Plant.
Taiwan's grid faces long-term capacity shortfalls, driving multi-decade power procurement deals to secure baseload generation.
