General Compute Secures $400 Million Debt Financing for Inference-Specific Chips
The San Francisco-based neocloud secured up to $400 million in debt financing from Upper90, with an initial $100 million draw. This facility will fund inference-specific chips designed for air-cooled data centers, aiming to deliver inference up to 16 times faster than GPU-based clouds. Upper90 receives the chip assets as collateral, extending a financing model previously used for GPU clouds to newer inference hardware.
