Samsung Electronics is expanding its NAND flash alliance with Nvidia, beginning mass production and shipments of its tenth-generation V-NAND (V10) while accelerating development of its 500-layer-class eleventh-generation V-NAND (V11). Nvidia's next-generation Context Memory Storage (CMX) system, equipped with 576 SSDs for 9,600 TB capacity, is expected to surge NAND demand from 35 million TB this year to over 100 million TB next year. Samsung has established monthly V-NAND production capacity exceeding 100,000 wafers, allocating approximately 60% of its capacity to V9, with V10 now reaching just under 5% of total V-NAND output.
Nvidia's CMX will consume NAND supply equivalent to adding another Apple-sized demand source, tightening the NAND market and solidifying Samsung's position.
