Gartner Predicts 30% of Enterprises Will Use AI PCs by 2029 to Cut Cloud AI Costs

Gartner's Strategic Roadmap for Agentic AI PCs forecasts that 30% of enterprises will leverage AI PCs by 2029 to reduce cloud AI token costs, driven by rising cloud expenses and advances in small language models (SLMs) and small reasoning models (SRMs). The analyst firm also predicts that 70% of the corporate PC installed base will be capable of running local GenAI workloads by 2030, with AI PCs becoming ten times more powerful by 2031.
