The Taiwan stock market opened strong, with the TAIEX index surging over 1,000 points at midday, driven by gains in memory semiconductor and semiconductor equipment sectors. Passive component stocks, including Leico and Daimec, also saw daily limit gains, while Heishin Tech and Lirong Electronics rose half a point.
